Overview
Public transport is widely used due to its affordability, but it often lacks first-mile and last-mile connectivity. Our next major focus is to integrate all public transportation into a single journey with Namma Yatri. This initiative will tackle the challenge of first and last-mile connectivity, offering users a seamless, efficient, and comprehensive travel experience.
The below example indicated a multimodel experience we built for San Francisco, USA.

Our primary goal is to create a smooth, cohesive experience by eliminating friction between different transit modes. The goal was to offer flexible route options, allowing users to tailor their journey to their needs. Additionally, we focused on reducing the cognitive load when switching between various transit options, ensuring a more intuitive and effortless travel experience for users.

We started by addressing the painpoints.

This redesign was shaped by lessons from our past. A few years ago, we tried to crack multimodal integration, but it didn’t go as planned. While it didn’t succeed, it taught us a lot. We started by reflecting on what went wrong, identifying key pain points, and figuring out what was actually feasible from a tech perspective. Then, we looked at similar products for inspiration, learning from what worked and what didn’t. With those insights, we reworked our approach—prototyping, testing with real users, and refining based on their feedback to create a smoother, more intuitive experience for navigating between autos/cabs and public transport.

We made public transport easier to find, choose, and book. The app now highlights the best transit options based on the user’s route, so they don’t have to figure it out themselves. To make decision-making even simpler, we added filters for travel time, cost, and transfers. Finally, buying tickets is quick and seamless—just a tap to purchase and validate. No hassle, no confusion—just a smooth, stress-free way to get around.
